Some 204 new cases of Covid-19 including 120 local transmissions have been recorded nationwide over the past 24 hours, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
Among 4,440 people receiving covid-19 test yesterday, 84 were identified as imported cases, returning workers from neighbouring countries.
The imported cases were detected in Savannakhet 54, Champassak 12, Khammuan 9, Vientiane 4, Luang Prabang 3 and Saravan 2.
The local infections were reported in Champassak 38, Luang Prabang 34, including 1 nurse, Khammuan 24, Savannakhet 13, including 4 nurses, Bokeo 8, Vientiane 2, and Saravan 1.
The total of confirmed covid-19 cases in the country has risen to 17,140 including 4,365 active cases and 16 deaths.
