ASEAN Fine Arts Students’ Sculpturing Project Launched

(KPL) The project National Identity Sculpturing Youth Camp for ASEAN Fine Arts Students 2019 was launched on Monday, Nov 18 as an activity under the purview of ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information (COCI).

Scheduled for Nov 18-21, the workshop will provide significant contribution to the implementation and realization of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the ASCC Blueprint, especially the ASEAN Strategic Plan for Culture and Arts 2016-2025.

The National Identity Sculpturing Youth Camp for ASEAN Fine Arts Students aims to promote the cultivation of young people to have better understanding about ASEAN and cooperation on protecting, preserving and promoting cultural diversity in the region.

It is essential to conduct activities that promote the sharing and exchanging of practical experiences and knowledge particularly on how to carve wooden sculptures representing the national identity of their respective country, said Mr Khamphou Phiasacha, Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Department, Lao National ASEAN-COCI, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

I truly believe that this special workshop will provide ASEAN participants with greater experience and closer communication, Mr Khamphou added.
