The Department of French, Faculty of Letters, National University of Laos officially launched a Bachelor of Arts in tourism in French programme on Jan 15 in Vientiane.
The event was attended by Vice-President of the National University of Laos Khamphong Nammavongmixay, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Action at the French Embassy Patrick Cohen, AUF Representative in Laos Antoine Blomquist, and hundred participants, among them, academics, institutional officials as well as students from the French Department.
Prof. Assoc. Dr Khamphong recalled that the mission of the NUOL was to meet the needs of the socio-economic development of the country in an appropriate, efficient and equitable manner. Therefore, one of its objectives is to train competitive graduates for the national and regional labor markets in order to satisfy the most demanding employers and to enable graduates to become accomplished professionals in their field.
This course in 4 years was made possible thanks to the cooperation of many partners including the French Embassy, the French-speaking Pole, the University Agency of Francophonie, the Groupement des Éducateurs sans Frontières (GREF), the University of Savoie Mont-Blanc, the University of Hanor, the companies Exotravel and LaosMood, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Faculty of Social Sciences.
