A plane carrying face masks and other medical supplies donated by the government and people of Cambodia arrived in Vientiane yesterday morning to support preventive and control measures against Covid-19 in the Lao PDR.
The package included 2.1 million face masks, ventilators, thermometers, and other medical necessities.
The handover of the medical supplies took place at Wattay International Airport between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Samdej Pichae Sena Teaban and Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith in the presence of members of the National Task Force Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control and senior officials of relevant ministries, and offices of both sides.
Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Thongloun expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government and people of Cambodia for their priceless assistance adding that such assistance represents not only mutual assistance as the two countries are facing Covid-19 outbreak but also time-honoured friendship, unity, cooperation and partnership between the two countries.
