China Donates US$100,000 For Relief Efforts In Flood-hit Provinces

(KPL) The Chinese government has donated US$ 100,000 to support relief and recovery efforts in Khammuan, Savannakhet, Saravan, Xekong, Attapeu and Champassak which have been severely flooded.

The flooding caused by storms between late August and early this month is the worst for the six central and southern provinces since 1978.

The handover of the donation package was held on Friday, Sep 20, at the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfares between Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Khampheng Saysompheng and Chinese Ambassador to Laos Jiang Zaidong.

We hope our contribution will help communities recover from those exceptional floods and support the emergency response as well as the longer-term recovery efforts, said Ambassador Jiang Zaidong.
