The Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in Laos and Vientiane French-speaking Digital Campus (CNF) Wednesday opened their new offices on the Dongdok campus of the National University of Laos (NUoL).
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Khamphay Sisavanh, Dean of the NUoL Somsy Yorphansay and Director of the AUF in Asia-Pacific Sophie Goedefroit and relevant officials of both sides.
The centre will be useful for Lao students and local people who are learning the French language, and this is the first centre providing such an opportunity for students, said Mr Somsy.
After 20 years of its presence in Laos, the AUF aims to give a new dynamic to its actions through its offices that will now have both the AUF administration and project team and the CNF in the same place on the main campus of the NUoL.
The place is entirely dedicated to the actors of the French speaking world, the entrepreneur world and civic society.
The CNF provides Laos’ French speaking community with brand new spaces where they can study and self-train, thanks to distance training, video conferences, workshops, events, etc. and meet with people who can show them resources to help develop innovative scientific and educational projects.
French speaking students, researchers and teachers can come and meet the AUF teams in order to get information and take part in the projects of the worldwide Academic French speaking network.
