(KPL) The International Research Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development was held in Vientiane Capital on Oct 5, 2019.
The two-day forum was organized by the Faculty of Architecture, National University of Laos, the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development, PRODIG, and the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, and supported by Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Somad Pholsena, Vice Minister of Education and Sports Kongsy Sengmany, students and relevant officials attended the forum. The NUOL International Research Forum 2019 is held on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the National University of Laos.
The research forum is one of activities of the NUOL Scientific Festival 2019 celebrating the anniversary, said NUOL President Somsy Yorphansay. Held under the theme Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development of the Lao PDR, the forum has been expected to be a platform for dissemination and exchange of knowledge and scientific results between the scholars from several domestic and foreign institutions.
The areas of scientific interests relate to the topics of bio-diversity and agriculture, environment, science, technology, innovation, education, human resource development, socio-economic development, culture and human settlement, promotion of small and medium enterprises, commerce and investment, laws, governance and international relations, and other areas of development.
