Lao Front for National Development’s 70th anniversary celebrated

A grand meeting was held this morning at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Lao Front for National Development (Aug 13, 1950-2020).

Chaired by President of the Lao Front for National Development Xaysomphone Phomvihane, the gathering saw the presence of President Bounnhang Vorachit, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and other Party and government leaders, retired officials, military veterans, and senior officials of the LFND, and mass organisations.

“Over the past 70 years, the Lao Front for National Development has always attached importance to strengthening itself in line with the requirements of each revolutionary period, making itself organisationally strong, strengthening capacity building of its officials through practical fulfilment of assigned tasks that meet qualitative and quantitative requirements, attaching attention to people’s diplomacy according to the external policy of the Party,” said LFND President Xaysomphone Phomvihane.

The Lao Front for National Development has also played a leading role in developing harmonious families, villages and districts, and has incorporated this cause in efforts to reduce the poverty of the Lao multi-ethnic people.

“This gathering celebrates our 70th anniversary. It has presented us an opportunity to commemorate the glorious achievements the Lao Front for National Development at all levels have made and reaffirmed the growth of LFND,” said Mr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane.

The Front’s president also spoke highly of the key role the Lao Front for National Development has played in strengthening the solidarity among the Lao multi-ethnic people and mobilising assistance and support from international organizations, friendly countries, and peace loving countries.
