They also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation on foreign affairs, education, finance and health, and regional issues of common interest.

On this occasion, Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith expressed on behalf of the government and people of the Lao PDR gratitude to the Hungarian government for its generous assistance to the Lao PDR to support the implementation of its national socio-economic development plan, as well as its post flood recovery efforts in 2019 and fight against Covid-19.

Two documents were signed after the bilateral meeting for cooperation on education and statistics.

The visiting Hungarian minister also paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, Minister of Industry and Commerce Khemmany Pholsena, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Kikeo Chanthaboury and other senior officials of Laos to discuss ways to strengthen the cooperation in various areas between Laos and Hungary.
