Lao Telecom will invest US$17.8 million this year to expand mobile broadband and fixed broadband networks to better serve internet demand in the country.
Last year, Lao Telecom raked in 1.86 billion kip, a 1.4% increase from 2017, and a net profit of 322.7 billion kip.
The company operates over 6,600 stations that deliver 2G, 3G, 4G and 4G+ services. Its mobile network services cover all 18 provinces, 148 cities and 8,500 homes across the country and has 4G services covering 49% of population in the country.
Lao Telecom is the largest telecommunications company in Laos. It has more than 1.6 million mobile phone subscribers, 40,000 telephone users, 430,000 wireless home phone numbers and 1.4 million Internet users.
