Laos Extends Sympathy Over Plane Crash In Algeria

Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith has sent a message of sympathy to his Algerian counterpart Abdelkader Masahel over the military plane crash taking place near the Algerian capital, Algiers, killing 257 people on board on Apr 11.

Dated Apr 13, 2018, the message read:

I have learned of the plane accident of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria’s military aircraft in the northern part of Algeria on the 11th April 2018, causing the death of all people in the aircraft.

On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and on my own behalf, Iwould like to express my deepest sympathy and share the sadness to Your Excellency, Government and people of Algeria, particularly to the families of the victims.

I am confident that under intensive effort by the Algerian Government, the people of Algeria will be able to overcome this moment of grief.
