Laos has logged 278 new cases of covid-19 over the past twenty-four hours, setting a new daily record with the total reaching 4,620 including 1,790 active cases and five deaths.
Some 2,825 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the virus since the first case was reported in the country in March 2020.
Imported cases detected among returning workers from neighbouring countries nominated the newly reported infections of Covid-19. These included 198 in Savannakhet, 53 cases in Champassak, nine each in Saravan and Borikhamxay, five in Khammuan, and four in Vientiane.
