Some 434 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded nationwide over the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 21,080 including 4,508 active cases and 16 deaths.
The new cases were detected among 5,965 people tested for Covid-19 nationwide.
Of the new confirmed cases, 406 were classified as local infections and 28 as imported cases.
The local transmissions were detected in Vientiane 229, Khammuan 69, Vientiane (Province) 49, Champassak 28, Luang Prabang 12, Bokeo 6, Attapeu 4, Savannakhet and Saravan 3 each, Luang Namtha 2 and Oudomxay 1.
The imported cases included 10 each in Savannakhet and Saravan, 6 in Champassak and two in Vientiane.
