Phutawen Farm, an agrotourism-oriented farm are arranging more activities to attract visitors, mostly from domestic market. The farm is located in Thaphabath district, Borikhamxay, a 2-hour drive from Vientiane.
“With the coronavirus pandemic, we’re facing a decline in the number of visitors. Now the sunflowers inside our farm are blooming beautifully so we are eager to welcome more domestic tourists. We are offering more leisure activities such as cycling, camping, and watching animals,” said Mr Thongsay Sikhamphong, Manager of Phutawen Farm.
Visitors can enjoy a combination of agriculture and nature, watching blossoming sunflowers, animals and cosmos fields, as well as picking and buying fresh vegetables, including, among others, tomatoes, leafy vegetable, and cucumbers.
Agricultural produce from Phutawen Farm are also distributed to Ban Hai Pak Ngum market, thus helping generate incomes for its workers and local people in nearby communities.
The farm is open every day from 7:AM-18 PM and entrance fee is 15,000 kip.
“Due to the covid-19 situation, the farm has put in place strict protective measures with everyone entering the farm having to have their temperature checked,” added Mr Thongsay.
