President receives credentials of new foreign ambassadors

President Bounnhang Vorachit received respectively at his office credentials from new ambassadors of Cambodia Thong Sokuntheary, the Republic of Turkey Orhan Isik and European Union Ina Marciulionyte. The President noted that the ambassadors’ appointments were yet another milestones for strengthening the relations between Laos and their motherlands and would lay foundation for other types of co-operation.

In reply, the new diplomats reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the relations and cooperation between the Lao PDR and their respective countries.

Laos established diplomatic ties with Cambodia on Jun 15, 1956, with Turkey on Jun 20, 1958, and with European Union on Nov 21, 1975.
