R. Korea Donates Two Ambulances to Lao Government

The Republic of Korea on Jan 16 donated two ambulances, worth 66,445 US dollars to the Lao Government.

Representing the Korean government to present the donation package was Acting President of the Lao-Republic of Korea Parliamentary Friendship Association Mr. Kim Tae-Hum who presented the package to Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Mr. Khampheng Xaysompheng.

The handover was witnessed by senior officials of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare and relevant authorities.

The vehicles will be then given to the health departments of Houaphanh and Sekong Provinces.

“Recently, associations of Korean artists and media have extended assistance to us. In April last year, for instance, they donated 1,000 cartons of clothing and shoes, worth US$ 1.2 million, and in August last year, the Republic of Korea donated four fire trucks and extinguishing equipment to us,” said Minister Khampheng.
