(KPL) Over 250 copies of research guidelines Research Ethics in Laos and the Mekong Countries have been presented to the University of Health Sciences (UHS) to be used as guidelines for conducting an ethical research that would allow hospital practitioners, teachers, students, researchers and organizational administrators to inspire people and engage them in ethical study.
The handover ceremony took place at the University of Health Sciences on October 24 in the amphitheater of the university.
Research Ethics in Laos and the Mekong countries” was co-published by the French institute for development (IRD) and the University of Health Sciences with support from the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
This book represents the successful outcome of the International Symposium on Ethics of Research for Development, including Environment, Society and Health in the Mekong Region, which was held at the University of Health Sciences in late 2015, said Mr. Phouthone Vangkonevilay, President of the UHS.
The handover ceremony was held in the presence of Mrs. Anne-Marie Moulin, former President of CCDE, IRD in France; Director of the Department of Education of Health Professionals, Dr. Niranh Phoumindr; Prof. Dr. Dr. Manivanh Souphanthong, Chair of the Research Ethics Board of the University of Health Sciences; Mr. Phouthone Vangkonevilay, President of the UHS; Mr. Ludovic Cocogne, Director of the Department of International and European Relations IRD, France; Mr. Patrick Cohen, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Action, Embassy of France to Lao PDR and Mr. Eric Deharo, IRD representative in Laos.
