Savannakhet and Champassak provinces have received medical equipment from the Vietnamese province of Quang Binh in an effort to contain the COVID-19 outbreak in Laos.
The medical supplies worth over 400 millions kip included face masks, protective equipment and hand gels.
A handover ceremony for the assistance was held on May 16 at the Nam Phao International Border checkpoint in Khammuan province between a representative of the Vietnamese province Quang Binh and Savannakhet Governor Santiphab Phomvihane and Champassak Governor Vilayvong Boutdakham.
On this occasion, the Lao provincial governors expressed thanks to the authorities and people of Quang Binh province for their medical assistance to the people of Savannakhet and Champassak provinces.
