Sepon Extends Support to Local Private Sector

MMG LXML Sepon (LXML) extended a LAK 80-million Executive VIP membership contribution to the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) last Thursday, to further develop the capacity of the local private sector.

Since 2000, LXML has contributed as a long-standing active member of the LNCCI: as an integral part of the company’s corporate, governance, and commercial activities as well as a significant investor, tax payer, and one of the largest industrial operations in the Lao PDR.

The LNCCI, established in 1989, is an independent body representing the interests of the private sector and business community in the Lao PDR. It provides an important link between the public and private sector, with over 1,000 members in 15 provinces across the country.

With the support of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the LNCCI is organising the 10th Lao Business Forum under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister, to take place at the end of this month.

Mr Viboon Sithimolada, Corporate and Community Affairs Manager, LXML expressed that, “The partnership between LXML and LNCCI aims at supporting further capacity development of the local private business sector in the Lao PDR, especially in the mining industry, promoting occupational health and safety, corporate social responsibility and the application of the environmental management best practices in the Lao PDR and in the ASEAN Economic Community”.

Mr Daovone Phachanthavong, Vice President of LNCCI, expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to MMG LXML for its continuous contributions to the Lao business sector through LNCCI.
