(KPL) The 2019 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF) werelaunched today at the Dianchi International Conference and Exhibition Center, Kunming, China’s Yunnan Province.
Under the themed Gather at the Opening-up Frontier Together, Build the Radiation Center Together and Share Prosperity and Development Together, the expo showcases a wide range of commodities from South and Southeast Asian countries, facilitates partnership negotiations between Chinese and other Asian entrepreneurs, and promotes multilateral diplomacy, economic ties and cultural exchanges.
Chen Hao, Secretary of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Yunnan Provincial People’s Congress, extended his welcome towards all the guests at the opening ceremony.
The event is expected to promote the materialisation of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Cooperation of the Lancang-Mekong Sub-region, and the China and Indo-China Peninsula Economic Corridor and the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor, said Chen Hao.
The event will also propel the circulation of commodities, capital, human resources, technologies andinformation as well as advancing the deep integration of markets, industries and projects between China and other countries, according to Mr Chen Hao.
The expo draws more than 7,500 booths representing over 3,300 enterprises from 73 countries, regions and international organizations.
Over 80 booths represent more than 30 companies from Laos. These include Lao brewery, Dao Heuang Group, Khamphaysana Group, Champassak Tea, 36 Tea, Special Economic Zone and other companies.
Eight Memoranda of Understanding were also signed on the sidelines of the expo between Chinese and Lao companies for partnership on education, agriculture, e-vehicles import, health, technology, tourism, among others.
