Laos has logged 1,073 new cases and two deaths attributed to Covid-19 over the previous 24 hours bringing the total in the country to 57,397 including 10,691 active cases and 112 deaths, according to the National Taskforce for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
Of the new infections, detected among 5,461 people tested for Covid-19 yesterday, 1,072 were classified as domestic infections, a press conference was told this morning.
The new domestic infections included 534 in Vientiane, 112 in Luang Prabang, 106 in Vientiane (province), 71 in Champassak, and 66 in Bokeo.
Meanwhile, forty-one domestic transmissions were reported in Oudomxay, 38 in Phongsaly, 37 in Xayaboury and 20 in Borikhamxay. Yesterday witnessed 717 Covid-19 patients discharged from hospital.
