Laos has recorded 676 new cases and ten new deaths attributed to Covid-19 over the previous 24 hours with the total reaching 128,924, including 7,412 active cases and 518 deaths.
The National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control told a press conference in Vientiane today that of the new confirmed cases included 670 local transmissions and six imported cases.
The new daily infections were reported in 17 provinces nationwide including Vientiane with 160 cases, Phongsaly 110, Borikhamxay 76, Xayaboury 53, Xieng Khuang 51, Huaphan 34, Saravan 26 and Khammuan 22 cases.
Deputy Director General of the Department of Communicable Diseases Control, Ministry of Health, Dr Sisavath Soutthanilaxay told the press conference that 585 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide yesterday.
Covid-19 has infected more than 342,000,000 people worldwide. The number includes over 5.5 million deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
