ASEAN, Pacific Alliance discuss Work Plan 2021-2025

The Meeting between Permanent Mission of the Lao PDR to ASEAN, as the Country Coordinator for ASEAN-Pacific Alliance Relations in 2021, and the Regional Coordination and Integration Mechanisms, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, as the President Pro Tempore of the Pacific Alliance in 2021 was held virtually on Sep 13.

The Meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Sengpraarthid Snookphone, Chargés d’affaires ad interim, Permanent Mission of the Lao PDR to ASEAN, and Ms. Adela Maestre, Director of Regional Coordination and Integration Mechanisms of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Coordinator of Colombia for the Pacific Alliance.

Relevant officials from the Embassy of Colombia in Jakarta and ASEAN Secretariat also attended the Meeting.

The Meeting discussed the on-going process of the development of the ASEAN-Pacific Alliance Work Plan (2021-2025), in which significant progress has been made. The Meeting also discussed the proposed joint activities to be conducted upon the finalisation and adoption of the Work Plan this year.

Established on April 28, 2011, the Pacific Alliance is a regional integration initiative comprised of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
